Nextro feature
Get paid when they book, not when they show up
Every Nextro booking takes card payment upfront via Stripe. Clients commit financially before the appointment — which means fewer no-shows, zero chasing, and money in your account the moment someone books.
Why upfront payment changes everything
No-shows become a non-issue
When a client has already paid, the cost of cancelling or ghosting falls on them — not you. Most clients who pay upfront honour their appointments. Those who do cancel know they may forfeit part of the payment depending on your cancellation policy.
No more bank transfer chasing
Sending payment requests, waiting for transfers, checking your bank, reminding late payers — Nextro replaces all of this with a single card charge at the point of booking. Payment is instant and automatic.
Predictable revenue from day one
When every booking is a paid booking, your projected income becomes reliable. You can plan staffing, supplies, and finances based on confirmed revenue rather than hoped-for collections.
Full Stripe payouts, straight to your bank
Payments go directly to your connected Stripe account. Nextro takes a small 1.5% platform fee; Stripe's standard UK rate applies. There is no middleman holding your money, no payout delay beyond Stripe's standard schedule.
Client-facing service fees, not hidden charges
The Stripe processing fee is shown transparently to the client at checkout as a separate service fee line item. You set your listed price; the client sees exactly what they pay. No surprises for either party.
How it works
Set your service price
In your Nextro settings, add each service with a name, duration, and price. For example: BIAB Infill · 90 min · £45. This is the amount the client will pay when they book.
Client books and pays in one flow
Your client visits your booking page, selects a service and time, enters their card details, and completes payment. The entire flow takes under 2 minutes. They receive a confirmation email immediately.
Payment arrives in your Stripe account
The card charge is processed instantly. Nextro's 1.5% fee and the Stripe processing fee are deducted, and the remainder is paid out to your bank account on Stripe's standard payout schedule.
Set your cancellation policy
You decide what happens if a client cancels. Full refund within 24 hours. No refund after the cancellation window. Or convert to a credit. Your policy is shown to clients before they book so expectations are clear.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions
Answers about booking, payments, and getting started with Nextro.
What is an upfront booking deposit for service businesses?
An upfront booking deposit is a payment taken at the time of booking rather than at the appointment itself. On Nextro, every booking is a full upfront payment — not a partial deposit. Clients pay the full service price when they book. This eliminates the risk of non-payment entirely and removes the awkward in-person transaction.
How does Nextro handle refunds if a client cancels?
Nextro has a configurable cancellation policy per service. You can allow full refunds up to a defined number of hours before the appointment, issue partial refunds, convert the payment to a credit for rebooking, or have a no-refund policy. The policy is shown to clients before they complete their booking so there are no surprises.
What payment processor does Nextro use for deposits?
Nextro uses Stripe for all card payments. Stripe is the same payment processor used by companies like Amazon, Deliveroo, and Shopify. You connect your own Stripe account — payments go directly to you, not through Nextro. Nextro charges a 1.5% platform fee on top of Stripe's standard UK rate of 1.5% + 20p.
Can I take card deposits through Nextro without a website?
Yes. Nextro provides a hosted booking page at nextroapp.com/book/yourusername. You do not need a separate website. You share your Nextro booking link in your Instagram bio, WhatsApp status, or anywhere you promote your business. Clients book and pay directly through that link.
Does taking upfront payment actually reduce no-shows?
Yes, significantly. Research consistently shows that no-show rates drop when clients have a financial stake in their appointment. When a client has already paid £45 for a BIAB infill, they are far less likely to cancel or simply not show up. Nextro users typically report a noticeable reduction in no-shows within the first month of switching to upfront payment.
