Nextro

Migration guide

Why service businesses switch to Nextro

The most common migration triggers — what independent nail techs, massage therapists, barbers, and other service businesses are moving away from, and why Nextro fits what they need next.

Switching from Fresha or Booksy (commission model)

Marketplace platforms charge a percentage on new client bookings. For an established business with a full diary, this commission adds up significantly each month. Nextro charges a flat £29/month with zero commission on any booking — regardless of who referred the client or how many bookings you take.

Who this affects: Beauty, hair, and nail businesses with an established client base

Switching from Instagram DM bookings

Managing bookings through Instagram messages means manually confirming times, sending bank details, chasing transfers, and tracking who has paid. Nextro replaces the entire process with a booking link where clients choose their service, pick a time, and pay by card — without contacting you.

Who this affects: Solo nail techs, lash techs, makeup artists, any beauty professional

Switching from a general scheduling tool (Calendly, Acuity)

General scheduling tools are built for business meetings — not service appointments. They often do not enforce upfront payment, do not manage service-specific durations, and do not send the kind of operational reminders that reduce no-shows. Nextro is built for appointment-based service businesses specifically.

Who this affects: Massage therapists, personal trainers, coaches, tutors — anyone who took a meeting scheduler and tried to make it work for appointments

Stopping no-shows that free bookings cause

When there is no financial stake in an appointment, clients cancel last-minute without consequence. Nextro takes full card payment at the time of booking — so every booking is already paid. No-shows either do not happen, or if the client cancels outside your policy window, you keep the payment.

Who this affects: Any appointment business experiencing regular no-shows

Moving away from bank transfer and cash payment chasing

Sending payment requests after sessions, waiting for bank transfers, checking whether payment has arrived, sending reminders — all of this disappears when clients pay upfront at booking. Every booking through Nextro arrives with the payment already in your account.

Who this affects: Personal trainers, massage therapists, sports therapists, coaches

Simplifying a complex salon management system

Some platforms bundle booking software with POS, inventory, payroll, and team management. If you are a solo or small-team operator, you are paying for features you do not use. Nextro is focused entirely on bookings and payment — quick to set up, nothing extraneous.

Who this affects: Independent operators who outgrew informal methods but don't need a full salon management suite

Common questions about switching

Common questions

Answers about booking, payments, and getting started with Nextro.

How long does it take to switch to Nextro?

Most businesses are fully live on Nextro within a few hours. You sign up, connect Stripe, set your services and availability, and your booking link is ready to share. Your existing clients simply start using the new link — there is no data migration required because you keep your client relationships directly.

Can I switch from Fresha to Nextro without losing my clients?

Yes. Your clients are your clients — they are not tied to the platform you use. You share your Nextro booking link with them via Instagram, WhatsApp, or email, and they start booking through it. The transition is usually seamless for established businesses with a loyal client base.

Is there a minimum contract with Nextro?

No. Nextro is month-to-month. You can cancel anytime from your settings. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term. You start with a 3-day free trial — no credit card required.

What happens to bookings I already have in another system?

You do not need to import historical bookings into Nextro. Set your availability going forward in Nextro and start taking new bookings through it. Your existing confirmed appointments in your old system continue as planned.

Does Nextro replace Fresha, Booksy, or Square completely?

For independent operators, yes. Nextro provides everything needed to take online bookings and upfront payment without needing a marketplace. If you relied on Fresha or Booksy for client discovery (new clients finding you through their app), you may want to plan how you will replace that client acquisition source before switching.
