Trust & payments

How payments work on Nextro.

Nextro is booking and scheduling software. We do not hold customer funds, process payments independently, or control business refund policies. This page explains exactly how payments, payouts, and data work.

Nextro never holds customer funds

All customer payments are processed by Stripe and routed directly to the business. Nextro is not a payment intermediary or escrow service.

Businesses receive payouts directly

Payments go to the business's connected bank account via Stripe Connect. Nextro has no access to payout funds.

Payout timing follows Stripe's schedule

Payout timing is determined by Stripe's standard schedule and the business's Stripe account. Nextro does not control payout timing.

Businesses own refund policies

Each business sets its own cancellation and refund terms. Nextro applies the policy the business defines — it does not make refund decisions independently.

How card payments flow

From customer to business — Nextro is the scheduling layer, not the payment layer.

  1. 01

    Customer books online

A customer visits the business's Nextro booking website, selects a service, and proceeds to payment.

  2. 02

    Stripe processes the payment

The payment is processed by Stripe Technology Europe, Limited — a regulated payment service provider. Nextro does not handle or store card details.

  3. 03

    Funds route to the business

Via Stripe Connect, the payment is routed to the business's connected bank account. Nextro never holds or has access to these funds.

  4. 04

    Payout on Stripe's schedule

Stripe pays out to the business on their standard payout schedule. The timing depends on Stripe's processing and the business's account settings — not Nextro.

  5. 05

    Nextro records the booking

Nextro records the booking confirmation and payment status. The business sees this in their dashboard. No card data is stored by Nextro.

Connected payment providers

Stripe Connect

Card payment processing

Businesses connect a Stripe account to accept card payments. Stripe Technology Europe, Limited processes all card transactions. Nextro uses the Stripe Connect API to facilitate this connection. Nextro is not Stripe and does not operate as a payment service provider.

Cash / bank transfer

In-person payment tracking

Businesses can optionally accept cash or bank transfer at the appointment. These are logged in Nextro for record-keeping. No third-party processor is involved — payment is made directly between the customer and business.

Stripe is a registered trademark of Stripe, Inc. Nextro uses Stripe Connect to facilitate card payment connections between customers and businesses. Nextro is not a payment institution.

Deposits and cancellation policies

Businesses set their own terms. Nextro applies them.

Booking deposits

Some businesses require payment upfront to secure an appointment. This payment is collected via Stripe at the time of booking and routed directly to the business. Nextro does not hold deposit funds.

Cancellation windows

Each business sets its own cancellation policy — including how much notice customers must give, and whether a refund applies. This is a business decision, not a Nextro-imposed rule.

Refund processing

When a business decides to issue a refund, the refund is processed through Stripe back to the customer's original payment method. Nextro provides the interface through which the business initiates this — but the business controls whether and when a refund is issued.

No-show handling

If a customer does not attend their appointment, the business's no-show policy determines the outcome. Nextro records the appointment status and applies whatever the business has configured.

Security and data protection

SSL / HTTPS encryption

All data transmitted through Nextro is encrypted in transit using TLS. No data is transmitted over unencrypted connections.

Card data (PCI DSS)

Nextro does not store card numbers, CVVs, or cardholder data. All card processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS certified. Nextro only receives a payment reference and status.

Account authentication

Business accounts are secured with email/password authentication managed by Firebase Authentication. Nextro uses secure, httpOnly session cookies.

Customer data

Customer names, email addresses, and phone numbers are collected during the booking process to facilitate the service. This data is stored securely and is governed by our Privacy Policy.

GDPR and UK data protection

Nextro complies with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Customers have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Data retention

Booking and payment records are retained for up to 7 years to support tax and legal compliance. Inactive account data is securely deleted after the relevant retention period.

Common questions

Answers about booking, payments, and getting started with Nextro.

Does Nextro hold customer payments?

No. Nextro never holds customer funds. When a customer pays for a booking, the payment is processed by Stripe and routed directly to the business's connected bank account via Stripe Connect. Nextro is software infrastructure — not a payment intermediary.

How long do payouts take?

Payout timing is determined by Stripe's standard payout schedule and the business's Stripe account settings. Nextro does not control or influence payout timing. New Stripe accounts typically receive payouts within 2–7 business days. Established accounts may receive faster payouts.

Who controls refunds and cancellation policies?

Businesses set and own their own refund and cancellation policies. Nextro provides tools that apply the policy a business has defined — but Nextro does not make refund decisions independently. All refund decisions are made and initiated by the business.

Is customer card data stored by Nextro?

No. Card details are processed directly by Stripe — Nextro never stores card numbers, CVVs, or cardholder data. Stripe is PCI DSS compliant. Nextro only receives a transaction reference and payment status.

What happens if a customer disputes a payment?

Chargebacks and payment disputes are handled through Stripe between the business and the customer's bank. Nextro provides booking records that may support dispute resolution, but is not a party to the dispute.
